Rebuilt Gear Utilizing Thermal Spray

Gear shape and teeth are not affected by thermal spray processing due to low heat input that will also not affect substrate temper. Keyways are protected during the spraying with attention being given to edge blending. This repair is part of a larger rebuild project. When worn equipment is rebuilt using thermal spray the procedures affect only areas needed for repair avoiding unaffected areas that are not required for repair. Processing using these procedures minimizes repair time and costs.
