Shaft Repair for 12' Diameter Fan
Bearing journals and the main diameter fan fit in the center of this 19' long shaft are being finished ground after being thermal sprayed with wear resistant carbon steel material.
The extreme wear applicaiton is used for efficient forced- and induced-draft service in the metals, chemical, power generation, paper, rock products, glass, resource recovery, incineration and other industries. The cost of repair is less then 25% of the replacement cost for a new shaft and can be easily repaired in the future. The blades in the air stream can be thermal sprayed to offer exceptional performance compared to uncoated blades. A wide range of abrasion resistant materials are available to offer protection in severe abrasive conditions on the wearing blades causing dangerous out of balance conditions. Other engineered materials including carbides along with corrosion resistant materials are thermal sprayed using HVOF, Plasma Electric Arc, Wire Arc and the Combustion processes.
