Mixing Impeller Wear Application
A wear resistant Thermal Sprayed Tungsten Carbide coating with single binder chemistry has proven wear life of three times compared to the uncoated Mixer Impeller.

Still in test as an experimental coating to this current ASB customer the coating performance will be monitored for wear. The thermal sprayed Mixing Impeller is being compared to an uncoated tool steel impeller-already showing wear. The operating condition is mixing of a dry material. ASB applied the carbide coating by the HVOF process with care taken to apply consistent thickness on all areas of the Mixing Impeller. A noted benefit is the non magnetic coating and substrate of the ASB processing is proving to increase quality of the finished customer product.
