Thermal Spray: Grinding, Finishing and Supporting Equipment
Since every project is unique, ASB Industries develops specific combinations of Thermal Spray technology procedures to ensure your operation's optimal performance. Our established in-house and customer-specific quality assurance programs assure that each project meets required specifications and that all coated parts are systematically evaluated for coating structure, coating bond, oxide content, porosity and thickness.
Capabilities
ASB houses extensive machine-shop capabilities that support complete pre- and post-treatment of all your Thermal Spray projects:
• Grinders to 60" diameter x 288" long - roll and cylindrical
grinding
• Lathes to 156" diameter x 252" long
• Vertical CNC Boring Mills with 126" swing x 63" under rail -
Duel Heads: Turret and Fixed
• Horizontal Boring Mills to 60" x 135" tables - CNC capable with
tool changing
• Equipment supports high tolerances, tapers, crowns, belting and
polishing. Diamond grinding is used
to finish tungsten carbide and ceramic coatings, while specialty
polishing provides flat surfaces
• Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) and Submerged Arc weld overlays are
also available, using lathe

turntable capabilities
• Dynamic roll balancer with microprocessor, printouts and 60"
diameter x 240" length capacity
• Large 2.5 million BTU oven for post-treatment sealing/coating
systems
